Carradale itself offers shops, a bakery, Post Office, bars and restaurants, hotels and a tea-room, pony trekking, a golf course, and a wonderful sandy beach just across the river from the cottage.

Campbeltown is the nearest town and has two supermarkets and numerous shops. There are also restaurants and cafes, a swimming pool, and a cinema. Machrihanish and Dunaverty golf courses are only a short drive away.

This is a remarkably good place for watching birds and other wildlife, including seals, dolphins, and basking sharks.

The whole area is ideal for walking and hiking, fishing, golfing, wind surfing, and cycling. The Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown has a very interesting whisky tasting and distillery tour, or you could just take time to relax and enjoy the scenery.
